We are like that only

Yesterday afternoon was spent watching a movie.

Anjali and myself went for “Van Helsing”. I know its a crap movie, but that was the idea. Wanted to have a good time passing stupid, idiotic comments on stupid, idiotic scene and dialogs there. The inspiration was Vipin’s idea. This was suggested by him during the Bangalore Blogger’s Meet (which looked more like NIT calicut blogger’s meet anywayz).

That’s beside the point.

In the theater, ironically, the most disgusting thing was not the quality of the movie. It was a kid. He was barely 14 years old, and was chewing tobacco like nobody’s business. His cancer is his business, but what disgusted and angered me the most was that he was busy spitting all over the place in the theater! He seemed blissfully careless about how he was actually littering the place, and being a total prick. I was enraged enough to actually walk over to that kid, kick him it was crawling in pain on the floor and land my fist through the mortal remains of his face!

I wanted to garb him by the scruff of his neck when the movie was over but the bastard left 5 min before the ending.

Why do we (indians) have to be so filthy about everything. All we do is harp about our pristine culture and immaculate heritage, but look where we are! It is said that the indian streets in US are just like in India (crowded, filthy and unclean).

It’s very difficult to walk on the road for 5 minutes and not find someone spitting on the road. Even if you try to tell the folks not to do it, they turn on you with the abuse to the effect “Tere baap ka hai kya?”. Is it so difficult to be clean? Is it such an effort to maintain hygeine? The west seem to be doing well, even an overpopulated nation like Japan sets an example. What’s wrong with us?

Ahh… I know what’s wrong with us…. We’re like that only
